MOT Type 1 limestone is a crushed graded limestone aggregate ranging from 40mm to dust.

- Size Range: Crushed particles span from 40mm stones down to 0mm (dust).
- Interlocking Structure: Larger aggregate stones interlock for high load-bearing strength, while the fine dust fills gaps during compaction to lock the layer solid.
- Specification: Conforms to Clause 803 of the UK’s Specification for Highway Works (SHW), originally designated by the Ministry of Transport (MOT).
