Description
A142 mesh is a light-duty steel reinforcement mesh designed to strengthen cast concrete. Made from 6mm high-tensile steel wires arranged in a 200mm grid it is widely used in domestic construction to reduce cracking and improve structural performance.

- Wire & Grid: 6 mm wire diameter with a 200 × 200 mm square grid pitch, providing a 142 mm²/m cross-sectional area.
- Material & Standards: Made from B500A steel (500 MPa yield strength) and manufactured to BS 4483 standards at a mass of 2.22 kg/m².
- Sheet Sizes: Available in (3.6 × 2.0 m)
Applications & Limitations
- Best Uses: Ideal for light-duty residential projects such as garden paths, patios, shed bases, and thin concrete floors (75–100 mm thick).
- Not for Vehicles: Unsuitable for driveways or garages due to insufficient load capacity.
- Installation: Place in the lower third of the slab with proper spacers (40 mm minimum cover) and overlap adjacent sheets by at least 200 mm, securing with tie wire.
